Who you are contracting with
KairoLock is operated by Jiwon Pi, registered at [FIELD: registered address]. References to "we", "us" and "KairoLock" in these terms mean that entity. General questions about these terms can be sent to support@kairolock.com.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use KairoLock. KairoLock is sold internationally through Paddle, which determines at checkout whether it can sell to your country and what tax applies; we do not offer the service where we or Paddle are prohibited from doing business. The application and all support are provided in English.
What the service is
KairoLock is a Windows desktop application for self-directed commitment. You decide in advance which applications and sites to block and for how long, and the application is designed to hold that decision on your own device through a Windows service and Windows Firewall rules. Blocking is network-layer: a blocked program still starts, it just cannot reach the network. The goal is to make an impulsive reversal harder than it would otherwise be. We do not claim that KairoLock cannot be bypassed, and we make no comparative claim against any other product.
KairoLock is not an emergency service, a medical device, a clinical treatment, a parental-control guarantee, an enterprise security control, or a substitute for professional care. Do not rely on it where a failure to access something could affect safety, health, work, education or a legal obligation.
Your account
An account is created by signing in with Google. We receive your Google account identifier and verified email address; we never receive your Google password. Your account and entitlement records are held in our Supabase project. You are responsible for keeping access to your Google account secure and for activity carried out through your KairoLock account.
One free trial is available per eligible account. Creating additional accounts in order to repeat the trial may result in the trial or the account being withdrawn.
Subscription, price and trial
KairoLock is offered as a 14-day free trial followed by a subscription at $7.99 USD per month or $59.99 USD per year. Prices are shown in USD; applicable sales tax, VAT or GST is calculated and added at checkout.
Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for the sale. Your purchase contract for the payment itself is therefore with Paddle, and Paddle's own buyer terms apply alongside these terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the Paddle customer portal reached from the application. Cancellation and refunds are described in our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
You may not interfere with the service's infrastructure, attempt to compromise other users, evade billing, redistribute or resell the software or its components, or use KairoLock to restrict a device you are not authorised to administer or to restrict another person without their informed consent.
Licence
While your account is in good standing we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the KairoLock application on Windows devices you own or administer, for your own use. We keep all rights in the software that are not expressly granted here.
Availability and changes
We do not offer an uptime guarantee, and we do not guarantee that any particular bypass will be prevented. We may change, suspend or discontinue the service or any part of it. Where a change materially reduces what you have paid for, we will give at least 30 days' notice in advance to the email address on your account, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
What we promise, and what we do not
We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill, and the application will work broadly as described on this site. Beyond that, and except for anything the law does not let us exclude, KairoLock is provided as it is: we do not promise that it is free of faults, that it will be available without interruption, that it will prevent every bypass, or that it will produce any particular outcome for your habits or your work.
If the service does not work as described, tell us at support@kairolock.com. Our first remedy is to try to fix it; where we cannot, the Refund Policy applies.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law where you live does not allow to be limited — including any mandatory consumer right.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profit, revenue, data, or opportunity, or for loss arising because you could not reach something you had chosen to block. Our total liability to you for all claims arising in any twelve month period is limited to the amount you paid us for KairoLock in that period. If you are using KairoLock on a free trial and have paid nothing, that limit is the price of one month of the subscription.
You are responsible for what you choose to block. Decide carefully before you commit, and keep another way to reach anything you may genuinely need.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using KairoLock at any time, and cancel the subscription as described in the Refund Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if your payment fails and is not resolved, or if we are required to by law; where the breach can be put right we will say what is needed before ending access, unless the law or an immediate risk prevents that.
When the agreement ends, your licence ends and you should uninstall the application. Any commitment already running on your device is enforced by that device, not by us; ending the agreement does not unlock it. The sections on acceptable use, liability, governing law, and any payment you already owe survive the end of the agreement.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer, nothing here removes a mandatory consumer right you have under the law of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you one. Please write to support@kairolock.com first: most disputes are settled faster that way.
These terms
These terms, the Refund Policy and the Privacy Notice are the whole agreement between us about KairoLock. If a court finds part of them unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may update them; material changes are notified to the email address on your account before they take effect, and the effective date at the top of this page always shows the version that applies.
